Roomee is an online platform operated by Roomee Pty Ltd (ACN 656 887 624), a company registered in Victoria, Australia ("Roomee", "we", "us", or "our"). We connect people looking for rental accommodation with those who have rooms available to rent.

2. Information we collect

We collect personal information that you provide directly to us, including:

• Account information — your name, email address, and password when you register
• Profile information — profile photo, phone number (optional), and any details you add to your listing or seeker profile
• Listing information — property address, room details, photos, and pricing you submit when creating a listing
• Communications — messages you send to other users through the Platform's messaging system
• Google sign-in — if you register via Google, we receive your name and email address from Google

We also automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Platform:

• IP address, browser type and version, operating system
• Pages visited, time spent on pages, and links clicked
• Referring URL and search terms used to find the Platform

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Display your listings and profile to other users
• Facilitate messaging between users
• Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, important notices)
• Improve and personalise your experience on the Platform

4. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Platform. Google Analytics collects information such as how often you visit, which pages you view, and what site you came from. • Law enforcement or regulators — if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Roomee or others

7. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on servers located in Australia via Microsoft Azure. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encrypted authentication tokens, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Complain about how we handle your personal information

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@roomee.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

9. Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.

10. Children

The Platform is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
